Utopia is the Annual International Cultural event of SIBM Bengaluru, which aims to foster cultural relationships between Symbiosis and other national and international universities. The event is celebrated on the birthday of the beloved founder of Symbiosis Society, Dr. S.B. Majumdar, and celebrates their motto – “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam,” which translates to ‘The world is one Family.’ The event amplifies the importance of being inclusive of cultures from around the world and ensures an ecosystem of cultural harmony.

Utopia 2022 was held offline for the first time in two years after the pandemic. The theme for this year was ‘Vivaci’ – Euphoria Redefined, an Italian word that means vivacious or lively.

Mr. Robert Champion, the secondary principal at Trio World Academy, Bengaluru, and an experienced educational leader in international education graced the occasion as the honorable Chief Guest.

The day was filled with an exciting line-up of events. It started with a street play (Nukkad Natak) where the students gave an enthralling performance, spreading awareness of the importance of blood donation, and captivating the minds of the audience.

This was followed by Lay-Up, a basketball competition in which the competing teams engaged in intense play-offs. Following that was Resonance, in which the participants mesmerized and uplifted the audience with their musical notes. All of the football fans in the crowd were drawn to Futsal. Engroove was a dance competition in which participants wowed everyone with their killer dance moves. The participants in the fashion show Panache flaunted their outfits and lit up the stage with glamour and pizzazz.

SIBM-B also hosted Snack-Shack, the food festival where people could try out the different flavors of Utopia.

This year, the Annual Blood Donation Drive was also conducted on the same day at SIBM-B. It turned out to be a tremendous success as the Bengaluru campus witnessed the highest number of blood donations amongst all the other campuses of SIU, with 116 units of blood collected.
